News: Inspector of Police Commits Suicide in Imo State

The Nigerian Police Force has entered a stage of grief and mourning as Umoh, an inspector at the Imo State Police Command committed suicide on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.

According to reports, the inspector was a visiting cop who was at the area command on special duty. Late Umoh was said to have complained of being sick after returning from an assignment. He allegedly went into one of the rooms in the command and shot himself dead.

One of the Sources said:

“Mobile officers came back and one of them went to one of the rooms and locked it. The next minute, we heard a gunshot.”

“When we approached the quarters, it was discovered that the door was locked. It was forced opened and the mobile policeman was found dead in the pool of his blood. He shot himself on his stomach.”

Furthermore, the spokesperson for the police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, has confirmed this incident when he said the state Commissioner of Police, Nasiru Muhammed, has ordered an investigation into the incident.
